Homemakers, creators, and DIYers: Welcome to the NEW and improved Adhesive Technologies blog, the Studio! My name is Alexis, and I will be your hostess for the foreseeable future.
What’s changed on the blog, exactly? More than has stayed the same, that’s for sure! If you’re afraid you’ll miss our old blog, Make Something Great, stick with me through this post, and I promise by the end you’ll be truly jazzed about the modifications we’ve made to make the creative experience here more colorful, fun, and user-friendly.
I’m going to keep our tour to the 5 most exciting changes, but I encourage you to explore and find all the other amazing updates on your own!
#1: Fresh, in-house content… all the time.
The premiere glue gun company of the world, Adhesive Technologies (or AdTech for short), has set aside a room in-house for trying different creative techniques and imagining new projects. We’re calling the room “the studio,” which is how we got the name for the blog!
Having a dedicated studio space means that we will be able to share 3-4 projects every month that we came up with ourselves and can vouch for. I, Alexis, will be the architect behind a lot of the projects, and I promise to share pro tips and lessons I learned when trying new techniques! We will also be doing reviews and lifestyle posts.
#2: Easy shopping.
How inconvenient is it to be inspired by a project on a blog, only to have to track down all kinds of specific materials without the help of direct links? We’ve taken care of that hangup in two ways!
One: Every DIY post will include the usual list of supplies needed, but any materials that are one-of-a-kind or unusual will be hyperlinked to online buying options, offering you the confidence that you are getting the right thing.
Two: We’ve added a page of our own products to the blog so that you can learn more about our glue guns, glue sticks, and glue runners, and make the right decision for you and your project! Each item listed navigates to a place to get a bargain online.
#3: Free downloads and printables.
Get your first free beauty bag pattern by signing up for our email list! You’ll actually get two beauty bag patterns and two succulent embellishment patterns to mix and match. This is one of my favorite projects since taking over the blog. I use my zippered beauty bag with the echeveria succulent embellishment to store my Oui Fresh products! Scroll to the bottom of the blog to sign up and receive patterns to make your own!
#4: User-friendly blog design.
We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to find archived posts you want to revisit, inspiration in a particular genre, guest posts and more. To that end, we’ve added a full navigation menu at the top of our blog, thumbnails of our five most recent posts in the sidebar off to the right, categories you can use to narrow what you see, and two search bars (one at the top right corner and one in the sidebar). Finding exactly what you want has never been so easy!
#5: We’re also upgrading our Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest accounts.
To match the look, feel, and voice here at the Studio, we’ve taken a new approach to all our social platforms. So if you haven’t already followed us in these places, check us out! We offer different kinds of inspiration in each place, so follow in all three places if you never want to miss a thing.
All right, that’s all for today! Go forth and make beautiful things!
BONUS #6: Coming soon: Paid guest posts!
Have you cooked up a really creative idea for a project that uses AdTech products? Send us your pitch! We will be paying a flat fee for guest posts that conform to our guidelines, which will be coming soon to this page. If we love your idea, we will reimburse you for materials and send you a check when your post goes live! Sign up for email updates at the bottom of the blog to be the first to know when we are accepting submissions!
